Scrap Metal Recycling Bin: Terms & Conditions

1. Acceptance of Terms
By requesting, accepting, or utilising a scrap metal bin from Malaga Scrap Metal ("the Company"), the Customer agrees to be bound by the following terms and conditions.

2. Permitted Materials
This bin is provided exclusively for the collection of scrap metal.

  • Accepted Items: Steel, aluminium, copper, brass, Stainless steel, Electric Motors, Electrical Cable, Lead, appliances (white goods), and automotive parts (fluids removed).
  • Prohibited Items: Hazardous waste, chemicals, tires, wood, glass, plastic, radioactive materials, and sealed pressurised containers (e.g., gas cylinders).

3. Contamination Charges
If the bin contains non-metal waste or prohibited materials, the Company reserves the right to:

  1. Refuse collection until the contamination is removed by the Customer.
  2. Charge a Contamination Fee plus additional landfill disposal costs.

4. Loading and Weight Limits

  • Level Loads: Bins must not be filled above the top rim. Overfilled bins are a safety hazard during transport and will not be collected.
  • Weight Restrictions: The Customer is responsible for ensuring the load does not exceed the legal weight limit of the vehicle.

5. Placement and Access

  • Surface Safety: The Company is not responsible for damage to driveways, pavement, or lawns resulting from the weight of the bin or the delivery vehicle.
  • Clear Access: The Customer must ensure the bin is accessible for pick-up. If the driver is unable to access the bin due to locked gates, parked cars, or obstructions, a Dry Run Fee may apply.

6. Liability and Damage

  • Equipment Care: The Customer is responsible for any damage to the bin while it is on their premises (excluding normal wear and tear).
  • Theft: The Company is not responsible for the theft of scrap metal from the bin once it has been placed on the Customer's site.
  • Injuries: The Company is not liable for any injuries sustained by the Customer or third parties while loading or interacting with the bin.

7. Ownership of Contents
Once the bin is loaded onto the Company’s vehicle for transport, the contents become the property of the Company unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.
